A big spoiler for my story Squall's origin in Crimson Mask but whatever. Hate it, love, just don't flame me about it. I'm really sensitive about that. I would like to know what you think. Remember this is just my mind

History:

Squall was born during a storm hencing his name. Though he did not know it at the time, he was the most powerful Ancient/Sorcerer to be at the time. His brother, Michel was born about a minute later. Unlike later stories about the mother's, Raine Leonhart Loire, death, she did not die in child birth. She died when her children were 5 by the hand of a man named Ares. Along with her, Michel also died. Before their death however, Squall was captured by Ares and was tortured until he was dead which did not happen. Seeing the fact, Raine managed to save her son at the cost of her life but Ares before being sealed killed Michel who was with her at the time.

Squall's Aunt Edea Kramer came to visit him and his family, the same day they died. She had found Squall next to their dead bodies sobbing. She along with a child named Ellone who was given to her by Squall's father, Laguna Loire, took him to her Orphanage in Centra. Where he stayed with 5 other children. Since he was the son of Raine, he and Ellone were friends, more like brother and sister. After a year at the Orphanage, Ellone was taken to a ship that would protect her from anyone who would want her power over time.

Squall was heart-broken to see his Sis, as he called her, go. Soon after another year he was enrolled into Garden. At the age of 10, he began his training of the gunblade. Then at the age of 13 he trained in the sword techniques of the Katana and fencing Saber. At 14 years of age, he began his rivalry with his once best friend, Seifer Almasy. At age 15, his inherited bloodlust came to be. Though he was young he managed to control the lust and attack those in the Training Center. Though at the time, Headmaster Cid Kramer, his uncle, help him control it, he mainly stayed in the Training Center during the lust of blood.

At age of 17, Squall's first guardian as an Ancient came to him. Her name was Shiva, goddess of ice and one of the four of the Ragnarok. Soon he passed the Exam to be a SeeD, a mercenary. After receiving SeeD-shipm, he was thrusted into saving the World from a Sorceress named Ultimecia. Over the journey, he was reunited with his friends and Sis from the Orphanage and came to know of his father, Laguna Loire now President of Esthar. Not only that but his other guardians, Diablos and Bahamut came to him. They too were also gods of the Ragnarok. However, fate did not stop his destiny there.

During Time Compression on the Island of Lost Time, an embodiment of Ultimecia attacked him and took his image and darkness to become physical thus creating Ares, the one who killed his mother and brother. Ares, however, was not an ordinary being. He was a part of Squall as Squall is a part of him but if Squall was killed, he would not die instead he would inherit his powers and become a full being, carrying on Ultimecia's legacy. So after being made, he tortured Squall until he was rendered unconscious then head back in time to when Squall was five. During this time, Squall was visited and acknowledged by Griever as his chosen. Griever was the last of the gods of the Ragnarok.

After receiving the blessing of the Gods of the Ragnarok, Squall's true powers as an Ancient were unveiled. He had the powers of all the Ancients before him, including the process of receiving, giving, and transfering both Soul and Life Energy. After the War, his memories of his childhood with his mother and brother were remembered. Yet, he hid his powers from those he cared and loved. Until three years after the war, when a vision came to him.

His mother and brother were only comatose and not dead though without pulse, their will and power as an Ancient kept them alive and let them aged. Squall finally told his uncle and father about his powers and vision. They had agreed that Squall would help wake Raine and Michel. As Squall disappeared in the Public eye, he began his career as a singer, his hidden talent revealed. During concerts, Squall would project his emotions and absorb the emotions of the audience to gain Soul Energy in a form of a cloud. However one side effect was that he was not trained and could not control the energy he absorb until it was transfered. So in solution Odine fashioned him a mask that would act as a suppresser. However Soul Energy was not enough, he needed Life Energy.

To gain that he killed fugitives given to him by Cid as a mercenary called Crimson. He was still a SeeD and on indefinite leave until his mother and brother were awake. He wore a Crimson mask that covered his face during the kills to absorb the Life Energy. However if he was in an animal form such as his wolf form, he would drink the blood of his victims to gain the energy.

Two years after knowing about his family, Ares was freed from his sealed prison by an unknown force. Squall knew this because he encountered Ares on a mission after killing his target. A fight occured and in the end the Lionheart was stolen, however, Ares's sword, Wolfheart, was left to him. Since then, a personal mission came to be. Squall would avenge his family by killing Ares, even if it meant his life.
