[case a] The Ultimate Fighter by Freya Sacksen

[note] This entire story is fiction. In fact, it's fiction of fiction, so I can't really see how anyone can take it seriously. :).

It was during the Sorceress Wars that Galbadia called upon the leading scientists in genetic engineering to create the Ultimate Fighter. Dr. Peter Shinza and Dr. Samantha Oyan took up the challenge.

Dr. Shinza had discovered many years before that there were specific genes that could boost a fighters fighting skills.

With a leading soldier pregnant, it seemed like their mission was almost at an end. The war would most likely be over in three, maybe five years, when the baby had discovered its potential.

However, the baby turned out to have a mental disorder, and the project was almost scrapped, when Dr. Oyan became pregnant with Dr. Shinza's child. After precarious labour, the child was born with both a healthy mind and as a powerful fighter.

However, the child refused to fight, and by the time it was two, its parents knew it would revolt against them.

So, in order to stop the child, they erased its memory but marked it on its face, where all could see that it was not worth a penny.

They abandoned the child, who searched the continent, growing weaker and weaker until Edea Kramer found it. She took the child into her care, naming him Zell.

Zell grew up being tormented by a fellow orphan, and grew used to depending on others.

However, when he was adopted by the Dinchts, and after his adoptive grandfather died, Zell vowed to become the Ultimate Fighter.

The day will come...
