[case a] Sephiroth's Father

     This fan-spec is more of an addendum to Sephiroth's profile, than anything. The point is we're not 100% sure that Professor Hojo is Sephiroth's biological father. He's been entered as such in Sephiroth's profile because that's the 'fact' that the game gives us - Hojo specifically says in one scene to Cloud that he is Sephiroth's father. The later half of the game for Hojo is simply the scientist trying to help Sephiroth (though, it's more from a sense of personal pride and a desire to finally succeed at something he did as a scientist than any fatherly affection) much to the annoyance of Cloud and his party.

     So who's the other candidate? Why, Vincent Valentine, Lucrecia's old lover. The theory goes that she was probably pregnant when she decided to go with Hojo, and Sephiroth was the baby (I can't remember if Lucrecia and Hojo were married or not).

     The reason a lot of people think Vincent was probably Sephiroth's father is a.) Sephiroth's looks (Hojo isn't what most people would classify as 'generically good looking' while Sephiroth and Vincent are), and b.) the amount of angsting Vincent does when he realises Lucrecia allowed Hojo to experiment on her and her baby.

     This isn't a proven theory, but it is something to keep in mind when reading Sephiroth's profile here on Noire Sensus, and when playing the game.
